November 26, 2015 Page 7 Community Briefs ECCC District Board Appoints New Superintendent/President LAX To Be Busiest U.S. Airport This Thanksgiving The El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday to appoint Dr. Dena Maloney as the Superintendent/President, effective February 1, 2016. Maloney, who will become the sixth Superintendent/President in the El Camino Community College District’s 68-year history, has ties to the South Bay. She was born at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, lived in Hawthorne spent her summers with her grandparents in Inglewood. Maloney currently serves as Superintendent/ President of the West Kern Community College District/Taft College. She began her career in higher education at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, where she served as director of the Employee Training Institute and director the Airport officials to announce that a record 2.1 million travelers will pass through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this Thanksgiving.
