[Eden Division] in order to provide the city with local government software applications and implementation services. For the past nine years the city has relied on Eden Financial System but is now ready to add another module that will help staff with a wide range of cashiering activities. “The current cashiering software is in need of an upgrade and the new version feature versatile, easy-to-navigate interface in the Microsoft® NET platform,” states the staff report. “The Tyler Cashiering software features its own relational database for storing cashiering activity and configuration data.” Each cashiering station updates the database, which is hosted on a server that centralizes the location for “query, research and audit activity” for all transactions and will provide for exceptional access to across-the-system totals. Included in the software is Check 21 and support for EMV hardware. “Tyler Cashiering is integrated to a lot of Tyler Products and they are adding more every cycle,” states the staff report. “The current system is very outdated and will support integration with EMV hardware or Windows 10 without some costly major development work.” Based on Inglewood Municipal Code, Section 2-198.1, the exception to the competitive bidding requirement, the city was able to move forward with purchasing the updated technology due to Tyler Cashiering software being proprietary and will be an upgrade to the city’s system. Since the software is already part of the city, it is considered that all competent information, data and sworn testimony has been provided to the city. • Inside This Issue Certified & Licensed Professionals.......................6 Classifieds............................2 Film Review..........................3 Food.......................................4 Hawthorne Happenings....3 Legals................................ 6-7 Looking Up...........................4 Pets........................................8 Police Reports.....................3 Sports....................................5 Weekend Forecast Friday Mostly Sunny 66˚/65˚ Saturday Sunny 70˚/57˚ Sunday Mostly Sunny 68˚/55˚ “The approval of this Agreement will specifically benefit the Successor Agency and the City by providing for the reduction of the footprint of the Project site and reducing the impact of vehicular traffic in the area due to construction activity.”
