Page 8 December 24, 2020 Featured Pets of the Week Hawthorne Hotspot from page 3 give is donate!! We are in a time right now where we should all be supporting and helping one another the best we can! Here are two events that will be taking place very soon! First, Hawthorne is collaborating with Grupo Con Decision and Hawthorne Community Fridge to host a Blanket Drive and Canned Food Drive! This is a great opportunity to donate anything you can to help those who have been affected by the pandemic during the holiday season! The two events will take place on December 19 at 11-2pm! It will take place at the Hawthorne Community Fridge. Other donations I recommend is The Midnight Mission in Los Angeles. If you go to their website, they will have a list of items that they are low in stock. It can be from coloring books to groceries to even diapers. For more information go to www.themidnightmission.org/. My Thoughts I’ve always loved this time of the year. It’s been my favorite because my family and I go to my cousin’s house and enjoy delicious Ecuadorian food that my mom and aunt cooked. In addition, as the days are building up to Christmas Eve, my friends and I have our holiday traditions. For example, my best friend and I go to Del Amo mall and do some holiday Christmas shopping. I also go to Lennox to see my childhood family friends and eat tamales that were handmade by their mom, known as Mama Rosa. Furthermore, my birthday is on Christmas and everyone wishes me an amazing happy birthday! As much as I love celebrating and shopping, I also personally acknowledge all the amazing blessings I’ve received and what I have. It reminds me to constantly be thankful for everything that comes to mind. I wish nothing but a safe and Merry Christmas to all of you Hawthorne.
