Friday Business
Networking Group
Are you a current or up and coming business
owner looking to prosper by way of efficient
mediums? Business networking with the right
people can be a milestone in itself! Dr. Ivan
Misner, once called the “Father of Modern
Networking” by CNN, is an entrepreneur and
founder of BNI, the world’s largest business
networking organization, who defines Business
Networking as “the process of developing
and activating your relationships to increase
your business, enhance your knowledge,
and expand your sphere of influence”. If
you are looking to solidify these skills as a
business owner, consider attending the Friday
Business Networking Group meeting this
28th of February from 7:45am to 9:15am
taking place at the Vintage Lounge at the
DoubleTree Hotel! (DoubleTree By Hilton
Torrance-South Bay, 21333 Hawthorne Blvd,
Torrance, California 90503, Torrance, United
States). Their purpose is to educate, share, and
create business leads for attendees. Both this
event as well as parking are absolutely free
of cost! All the hotel asks is that attendees
purchase something from their coffee kiosk
located across from the Vintage Lounge
(located straight back beyond the lobby). As
Dr. Misner once said, “Successful networking
of any kind starts with the genuine desire
to build relationships for the purpose of
giving and receiving business,” in other
words networking is essential and this is
your opportunity! Among the variety of
delicious products awaiting you are fruit,
oatmeal, breakfast pastries, pre-packed lunch
items, as well as hot and cold drinks of your
choosing. No RSVP required! The main
role of business organizing is to educate
others concerning your business and, ideally,
transform them into clients. Don’t miss out
on this prosperous opportunity!

Josh’s Thoughts
Make Every Moment Count
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about time.
Yes, we’ve all heard that cliché “time flies”
and there’s little to no arguing against that
theory. The idea I’ve been thinking about
is the manner in which time is spent. Let
me explain. When I was a child, I didn’t
yet grasp the concept of how quickly time
passes by and I just took those moments for
granted, as we all do at a young age. It’s
understandable. I couldn’t have known of a
different perspective; and, frankly, that’s the
way it should be. What I am noticing is what
I did with my time is either what made my
memories the best that it could be as well
as having the opposite effect.
When I was five years old, I learned how
to ride a bike. This was only after falling to
the concrete floor and having tears roll down
my face. When I was seven, I learned how
to fly a kite only after that same kit flew
straight into my right eye and gave me a
bruise. When I was nine, I learned how to
properly perform a dive into a swimming
pool only after hitting my head on the pool
ledge during my first attempt. You see, I
was the type of kid that, when something
happened that would discourage me, I’d try
to find a way to “get back on the horse” as
my grandfather would say.
Time went by and I got older. Late teens. I
was, what you would say, irresponsible with
