She is particularly fond of her little brother, Peel, with whom she plays and cuddles most of the time. She is energetic and daring and loves to explore. She is also very loving and affectionate with her human companions. Little Bear loves belly rubs while lying on your lap, and she relaxes and falls asleep in your hands. She hilariously meows when you kiss her little head. Peel will steal your heart with sweetness! He particularly loves to play with his sister Bear, and to learn from her. He has very expressive eyes, and they are magnetic when he looks into yours. He loves human companionship. He enjoys being held close to you, and sometimes he falls asleep tucked in under your chin. Beautiful Mia was trapped by management at DWP and taken to a county shelter. The person who had been feeding her asked for Kitten Rescue’s help in getting her out of the shelter. Because Mia was deemed “feral”, she could only be adopted by a rescue group. The plan was to spay her and find a place where she could be a barn cat and live out her life as a feral. But something happened when her rescuer put her in a cage for recovery after being spayed…. Sweet Mia meowed. Feral cats do not meow. Meowing is a cat’s way of communicating with humans. It was Mia’s way of saying “I want a home”. Mia is a sweet, lovable cat with captivating green eyes, who likes to be petted and held. A quiet home with a kitty companion would be an ideal choice for her. Bonnie is a gorgeous, very curious and very playful Tabby cat that loves to be on camera. She is also very loyal and cuddly.   Bonnie is great with children and will follow you everywhere. Her favorite things to play with are pipe cleaners, toilet paper rolls, paper towels, and tinfoil.  She also loves to wrestle and pounce on her brother, Clyde and meows when he is out of her sight. This playful pair will add a wonderful energy and joy to any loving home. Audi was rescued from the engine of a car (an Audi)  after crying for 3 days. He was terrified, covered with grease and fleas, and skinny. After a bath, good food and loving care, he tamed immediately and now is a loving, playful, adventurous  little guy. Audi started eating nonstop and soon gained weight and lengthened out, but he may always be on the small side. He sleeps on his foster mama’s neck at night.  A couple of weeks later, we found Chevy who may be his brother. They’re now bonded, playing and sleeping together, so they should be adopted together. Another foster cat, Anabel, served as the foster mama too, giving both Audi and Chevy love, care and discipline. He’s accustomed to adult cats, kittens and small dogs. Chevy appeared in our front yard, several days after we heard him crying. He must have been on his own for many days. When caught, he was terrified, very thin, and covered with fleas. It was decided that he’s probably Audi’s brother, as he was found close by. He’s a calm, quiet and affectionate  little guy who  loves to play gently. His fuzzy coat will be handsome when he’s grown. Chevy loves to sleep on his foster mama’s neck with Audi. Chevy is also accustomed to adult cats, kittens, and small dogs. These kitties are available for adoption through Peel Mia Bonnie Chevy Clyde Local Aerospace from front page Virgin Galactic unveiled in February, carries built-in safeguards to prevent the catastrophic event from reoccurring, the company said. The redesigned space vehicle has tested safely, though some of the original “future astronauts” reportedly backed out because of the long delay and the 2014 in-air malfunction that investigators blamed on pilot error, not the vehicle’s design or integrity. The Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation on Aug. 1 issued Virgin Galactica an operator license for SpaceShipTwo, moving the spaceliner closer to its maiden voyage. On the same day, the company announced a successful taxi test of the space vehicle, enabling the space-flight company to notch two milestones in one day. Still, a company official said in the announcement on the Virgin Galactica web site “we still have much work ahead to fully test this spaceship in flight.” The announcement offered no specifics, and left followers of Virgin Galactica’s much-heralded passenger project hanging. “Check back soon for more details about the flight test program and what to expect on the ground and in the skies,” it reads. The price for a ride on the six-seater spacecraft was $200,000 in the beginning, which the company bumped up to $250,000, a space-industry journal Space.com reported. Branson reportedly said the price would remain at $250,000 until the first 1,000 people had taken suborbital flights in space. Virgin Galactic hopes eventually to lower the price below $200,000 to make spaceflight available to more people, Branson told Space. com. in a 2013 interview. SpaceX, Virgin Galactic and the Los Angelesbased launch company Rocket Lab have filled their satellite-launch manifests with government and commercial contracts, the Times reported last month. Microsoft co-founder Allen and his company Vulcan Aerospace are building a plane in the Mojave that will have the largest wingspan ever to launch satellites into orbit. Tim Buzza, a former Northrop engineer who is vice president of the satellite-launching division for Virgin Galactica, like many people interviewed by the Times thinks the Southern California air and space industry is stabilizing with smaller companies poised to grow, after the region lost the giant defense contractors Lockheed and Northrop Grumman who moved out to Washington, D.C. The current  industry  is much smaller, yet a high-ranking strategy consultant with PriceWaterhouseCooper told the Times, “the aerospace and defense sector in Southern California is far from dead.” •
