From all the folks and furry kids at Miniature Schnauzers and Friends, we’d like to thank everyone for helping us find homes for our “orphans” and wish everyone a happy holiday season. “Are you looking for an elegant, reserved, mature lady to be your adoring and quiet companion? If so, look no further. I’m Pinkie, an eight-year old, female, purebred Miniature Schnauzer. Sadly, my elderly owner could no longer care for me--so one of her relatives took me to an LA County shelter and left me. I’m a shy, reserved lady with a docked tail, natural ears and gorgeous eyes. I’ve had a vet exam and a dental, which left me with eight less teeth but I feel absolutely wonderful. I’m a bit on the larger side, weighing about 17 pounds, but I’m still able to fit on your lap and I have many years left to give to a family who can appreciate and love me. I was really hoping to find my forever family to spend Christmas with since it’s the first time I’ve ever been without a family for this special time of year. Well, if Happy Tails not for Christmas, how about starting off 2017 with a lot of love and companionship for you and a home for me?” If you are interested in Pinky, please email info@msfr.org for more information. “They call me Corky and I’m a six-year old, female, purebred Miniature Schnauzer. I was confiscated with eight other dogs and we all ended up at an LA County shelter. Most of the other dogs were adopted directly from the shelter, but my buddy Russell and I needed rescuing…so in stepped MSFR. Lucky for Russell, he found his forever home several months ago. But as for me—well, I haven’t been so lucky. When I was rescued, in addition to being a stinky, matted mess, my eyes were all crusted over due to an untreated dry eye condition, and my teeth were so bad that even I didn’t want to be around me. The rescue folks, who by the way are very savvy, suspected that I had bladder stones and they were right! One procedure took care of the stones, the neutering and a dental, which resulted in the removal of 15 teeth. Looking good and feeling even better than I look, but I will have to remain on eye drops to keep my eyes clear and on Rx dog food to prevent reoccurring stones. I’m just a bit of a gal, only 12 pounds, and I’m cute as a button with my natural plume of a tail. I get along great with other dogs and I’m very affectionate. So I ask, ‘Why am I still here and feeling sad and lonely?’ The holidays are no time to be without a family to love and be loved in return. I still have hope that the new year will bring me luck in finding my forever Corky Holly Congratulations to Eugene who brings in the holiday cheer with a new family! family. I know you’re out there and once we meet, you’ll never regret making me a part of your family.” If you’re interested in Corky, please email info@msfr.org for more information. “Hi there, my name is Donny and I’m a lovable, 17-pound, five-year old, male, purebred Miniature Schnauzer who has had a pretty eventful life. One night I was out for a stroll, and the next thing I knew I was in an LA County shelter. I was told that I ended up there after sustaining some nasty injuries when a car hit me. Since I was a stray and injured, I wasn’t going to be adopted--so I was very Congratulations to Eugene, who found his forever home in time for Christmas! His new “parents” had dogs when they were children but not as adults, so this will be their first dog as a family. When Eugene met their seven-year old daughter, he was so gentle and sweet with her that we believe he came from a home with children. It was just second lucky to be rescued by the MSFR folks. They took me to their vet, who took x-rays and found that that I had several fractures in my pelvis. The surgery, on February 10, to repair my pelvis required a plate and six screws. I have completely recovered from surgery and am now on a mission to find my forever home. My visit to the groomer has transformed me into quite a good-looking guy. My eyes and my natural tail are my best features, but my sweet temperament is what will win you over.” If you are interested in Donny, please email info@msfr.org for more information. “Naming me Holly seemed most appropriate since I wandered off with my friend during the holiday season and ended up at an LA City shelter. He was very lucky and was adopted by the public. Unfortunately, I wasn’t quite so lucky. When I was examined at the shelter, they found blood in my urine--so I was confined to the medical ward. Not a fun place for a fouryear old, female, purebred Miniature Schnauzer. I was so lonely and the public couldn’t even come visit me, so I was feeling pretty hopeless. Then the MSFR folks heard about me and came to my rescue! Their veterinarian examined me and determined that I just had a bladder infection that was totally curable with antibiotics. Things are definitely looking up for this 18-pound gal with an adorable face. I get along great with other dogs and am a real sweetie pie. Now, I just need to find my forever home to make the new year a great one!” If you’re interested in Holly, please email info@msfr.org for more information. • nature for him to make friends with her. With the holidays upon us, everyone will be home for the next few weeks…so his new sister will be able to dote on him and everyone will share in the love. What a perfect time to make Eugene a member of the family! We wish them a very happy holiday season a long, happy life. •
