Follow Us on Twitter @heraldpub Community Briefs from page 3 Felony Charges Filed Against Suspect who Led Police in Vehicle Pursuit and Caused Two Hour Standoff Javier Beristain Trujillo led El Segundo Police on a dangerous pursuit on Sepulveda Boulevard during lunch-time traffic. During the pursuit, Trujillo drove at a high rate of speed, entered opposing lanes of traffic, failed to stop at a red light and drove erratically. El Segundo Police were forced to use a Pursuit Intervention Technique to disable his car and end the pursuit. After his car was disabled, Trujillo refused to exit until police introduced non-lethal chemical agents. On Oct. 26, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges, 2800.2 VC - Felony Evading, 23103(a) VC - Reckless Driving, 148(a)(1) PC - Resisting Arrest, 11377(a) H&S - Possession of Methamphetamine, and 4600(a) PC - Destroying Jail Property. Trujillo was remanded into the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and is being held on $75,000 bail. Trujillo’s next court appointment is scheduled for Nov. 9.
