Page 12 October 20, 2016 EL SEGUNDO HERALD Eagles from page 5 81-yard catch-and-run touchdown pass. Brooks’ catch was his second and final reception of the game and gave him two catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns. On the ensuing kickoff, Hunter Lynch recovered a fumble. Two plays later, Gray scored his second touchdown, this time from six yards away, to make it 48-0 late in the second quarter. The Eagles had thoroughly embarrassed Beverly Hills but to their credit, the Normans never folded. With the running clock in play, the Eagles had possession of the ball for the entire third quarter. To start the second half the Eagles failed to pick up a first down and punted. The punt was muffed by the Norman’s Josh Johnson and recovered by Kyle Pulsipher at the Beverly Hills 15-yard line. CJ Shevlin, who took over at quarterback, scrambled on a pass play but after the play broke down, he raced into the end zone to make it 55-0. On the ensuing kickoff, the Normans once again fumbled the ball and Tyler Villalobos recovered the ball at the Beverly Hills 7-yard line. Two plays later Dylan Marquez-Wasson plunged into the end zone to make it 62-0. Marquez-Wasson helped the Eagles establish a new scoring record with a 9-yard touchdown run with 5:46 remaining in the game. It was the most lopsided victory in the school’s history and sets up an important game with Lawndale Friday night at home, with playoff implications. The Eagles would like nothing better than play their best game of the season and knock off Lawndale on Senior Night. The JV football team rolled to another victory. Elijah Rousse led his team with two rushing touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 40-6 win over Beverly Hills. Dylan Phillips, starting his first game at quarterback, was instrumental in running the offense that cumulated over 450 yards of total offense. Joey Gorte, Marquez- Wasson and Elijah Dunn also scored for the Eagles. Boys’ Water Polo The Eagles Pounded Torrance 16-1 in Ocean League play. Kelly Reynolds led El Segundo with six goals. Kyle Crist had four No. 44 Dylan Radke and No. 24 Billy Brasher punish Beverly Hills’ Josh Johnson.
