Private family graveside services will be held in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Geoffrey Michael Palmer was born October 19, 1945 in Torrance, CA, the son of Robert and Grace (Conrath) Palmer. He attended school in El Segundo and graduated from El Segundo High School. Following high school, he went to work for Chevron Oil in El Segundo. He was united in marriage to Debbie Weber in 1965. To this union, two children were born, Michael and Jill. They later divorced. Geoffrey continued to work for Chevron Oil until retiring after 38 years of service. Following his retirement, he moved to Sun City West, Arizona to be close to his sister, Patty. Geoffrey loved riding his bike up and down the beaches in California. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. But most of all, he loved the times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include a son: Michael Palmer of Oceana, CA; a daughter: Jill (Roger) Rouse of Atascadero, CA; 5 granddaughters; his former wife: Debbie Palmer of Oceana, CA; a brother: Robert Palmer of Grand Prairie, TX; two sisters: Anita Brock of Houston, TX and Patty (Clay) Borchers of Sun City West, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
