Assembly, which includes El Segundo. Well, it turns out that there were two write-in candidates. Tony Leal for the Republican Party and Baron Bruno for the Libertarian Party. Even though only the top two from the primary can be placed on the ballot for the November General Election, it turns out that both Tony and Baron got the exact same amount of votes. Unlike some other states where a tie can be decided, believe it or not, by a coin toss, according to California rules when there is a tie then both will be on the ballot. So this November there will be three candidates running for the 62nd. Assembly, Autumn Burke, Tony Leal and Baron Bruno. Sometimes democracy does work. – Marc Rener P.S. I would like to note the sudden and untimely passing of my longtime friend Eddie Paul. Eddie was an El Segundo businessman and resident for decades. My prayers go out to his wife and children. • Calendar Calendar listings are 25 words or less and we will publish as many as space permits, per week. Advertisers get priority. Councilman Brann was presented with West Basin’s Extraordinary Water Conservation Award for converting his landscape to a water-wise garden. In August 2015, Councilman Brann and his wife began their landscape project at their home in an effort to help conserve water and build a drought-tolerant garden. Councilman Brann had the higher water-use turf and trees removed and installed a beautiful and more appropriate “California Friendly” garden. Some of the features include a dry creek bed, walking path, drip irrigation, smart meter, and low water-use plants and trees. Today, the Brann family has a beautiful, drought-tolerant garden in El Segundo. West Basin commends Councilmember Brann for helping to conserve outdoor water use! Before. After.
