Page 2 April 20, 2017 EL SEGUNDO HERALD Obituaries Jemima “Mima” Mc Manus - Carter Jemima “Mima” McManus- Carter, recently passed away peacefully at her home in El Segundo, CA surrounded by her loving friends on April 10, 2017 at the age of 91. Mima was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the beloved daughter of James and Mabel (McPhee) McManus on June 9, 1925 and the oldest of 9 children. Predeceased family include her parents, brothers Charles, James, Alexander and Robert McManus as well as sister Mabel McManus. She leaves her siblings Iza (McManus) Taylor, Francis (McManus) Simpkins, and Margaret (McManus) Watson, ex-husband William Carter, many other in-law siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and close friends in her community. In her early years, Jemima helped her father in his fire merchant business as well as helped raise her brothers and sisters. Her early career in Scotland included being a top specialty shoes salesperson. Mima moved to the US in 1963 where she met and married William Carter a fellow Glasgow immigrant in El Segundo, CA. She worked many years at the local El Segundo bakery. Her ex-husband William Carter remained by her side, as well as her close friends in the community. Jemima loved life, her family, her friends, and especially enjoyed tending her garden, “dog sitting” her many furry friends, being a member of the Britannia club, and a being a devout Catholic. A memorial mass will be held at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in El Segundo at 10:30 am on April 20, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.bestfriends.org, an animal rescue/ rehabilitation organization. Lucy was born (two weeks early) on March 25, 2017 in Ventura, CA. She weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz., and was 19 inches long. Lucy’s mom is a 2006 graduate of El Segundo High School. Her overjoyed grandparents are David Hendrix & Dahne Underhill-Hendrix of El Segundo, and Vince & Cheryl Piccirilli of Seattle, WA. Her great-grandmother is Maryjane Clutter of El Segundo. We all welcome to our family this beautiful little angel! • In Memory Of Margaret “Marge” Bahny Marge passed peacefully on April 9, 2017. She was 86 and filled her long life with faith, friendship, and love for family. Marge and her late husband Steve moved to El Segundo in 1956. Our Mom blessed the lives of everyone who knew her and she will always be in our hearts. She is survived by her three children Bonnie, Mary, and Eddie, 5 grandchildren, and a sister. According to her wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Warren Lee Worthington, Jr AKA: Wiggles, Wiggy, Wig, Wig Meister 1963 – 2017 Warren was born in Inglewood CA at Centinela Hospital. He entered into his Father’s Kingdom on March 26, 2017. Warren moved to El Segundo in 1975, and attended ES Middle and ES High School. Warren is proceeded in death by mother Ruth Glover Worthington, father Warren Lee Worthington, Sr, mother in law Alice McEvoy- Blackstock, father in law Michael Blackstock, brother in law Bill Blackstock.  He leaves behind his wife of 23 years Mary McEvoy-Worthington, daughter Emma McEvoy-Worthington, eldest son Evan Worthington, and youngest son Ezra Worthington, older brother Will Worthington of ES, younger brother Christopher Worthington of IN, stepmother Leora Worthington of Salinas. He also leaves behind over 39 brother and sister in laws, and well over 75 nieces and nephews who loved and adored their Uncle Wiggy, he was their own personal jungle gym. Also, lots of friends through out life and work who will miss The Wig Miester and remember him as BIG, FULL OF LIFE, LOVE AND LAUGHTER. Warren worked very hard everyday, enjoying owning his own business of pumping concrete, enabling his wife to stay at home raising their beautiful family. His motto being, “work hard now play harder later!” Although his play time here was cut short, he will always be loved and missed by all that knew him.
