They reached out to Center Street Elementary School Principal Martaha Monahan to see if her students would be interested in making cards for soldiers. The cards will be sent to the charity Support Our Troops and most likely go to soldiers deployed in Afghanistan or Kuwait. The response was overwhelming, with 24 classes participating to create 513 handmade cards from classes transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. “We recently sent the cards to Support Our Troops and we hope it brightened many soldiers’ day and it taught the importance of soldiers serving our country to many El Segundo students,” Sydney noted. In this photo are four Center Street students along with Ms. Martha Monahan in the center, plus Savannah Schartz (directly to the right of Ms. Monahan) and Sydney Sowder (directly to the right of Savannah). Smoky Hollow Specific Plan Update and Scoping Meeting A Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) pursuant to the CEQA Guidelines Section 15082 has been prepared and is available for review at the City of El Segundo Department of Planning and Building Safety.
