What a surprise: it is paid for by the cops’ and firemen’s PAC’s. Once again I urge my fellow residents to vote “No” and reject the 50% increase in the obnoxious TOT. We don’t need more taxes, we need fiscal responsibility. See you at the polls. – Edward Ryan No on Measure B Read the Argument Against Measure B and Rebuttal to the Argument in Favor of Measure B in the Sample Ballot. This year’s featured speaker was Logan Hansen, 12-years-old, son of Marsha Hansen, Executive Director, El Segundo Chamber of Commerce. Logan Hansen was diagnosed with complex Congenital Heart Disease a few hours after birth. He discussed his many challenges since birth, which included three major surgeries, numerous procedures, doctor visits and “loads of medicine”. It would be overwhelming for anyone, much less a young boy, however his speech was delivered in a matter-of-fact, inspirational and even humorous way. It was a great way to start the Easter weekend. They moved to El Segundo in 1964 where they raised their 7 children. She was the most wonderful mother and grandma who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, James Lamay, her son John, her grandson David, and is survived by her children, Rosanne (Bob), James, Thomas (Janet), Lori (David), Joseph (Sonya), Teresa, her sisters Delores and Virginia, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends who loved her. Services will be held at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church next week. Correction In last week’s El Segundo Herald, “New Leadership at St Anthony School Driving Families to Seek Alternatives”. We made an error: The first grade teacher was let go while on her honeymoon, not the second grade teacher. The second grade teacher retired. •
