Page 2 February 18, 2016 EL SEGUNDO HERALD Timothy Ernest Domann Herald in Oahu, Hawaii Marc “Squid” Magid at the Sony Open Golf Tournament in Oahu, Hawaii. • Student Creates Rolling Library for ESPD Timothy Ernest Domann, 58, a long time resident, died Wed. February 3, 2016 from complications of kidney disease. He was born on January 22, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A 1976 graduate of El Segundo High School, Tim went on to graduate from El Camino College and worked for Pacific Bell/AT&T as a Service Tech for 31 years. He retired in 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ethel Domann, two brothers, Larry and Steve, and his mother in law, Betty Goodman. Tim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy Domann (Goodman) (ESHS class of 82), father in law, William Goodman, and brothers in law, Mike and Terry. Funeral and burial to be held in Herington, Kansas. A memorial to be held at a later date. • Community Briefs Middle School student, Allison Armijo created a rolling book cart for El Segundo Police Department’s new jail library. She was interested in improving the education level of those housed in our jail in hopes it would curtail future criminal behavior.  She worked tirelessly to gather books (education, fiction, non-fiction, etc.) and working with Lieutenant Ray Garcia put together a book cart for their jail facility.  Lieutenant Garcia stated “ To me, this is a great example of compassion and forward thinking that may be the kind gesture someone in our custody may need to turn their life around.” A placard on the cart gives credit to Allison and her hard work. Sidewalk Saviors Pastors Lee Carlile of El Segundo United Methodist Church and Dina Ferguson of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church offered “ashes to go” to passerby who wanted ashes to mark the beginning of Lent last Wednesday on Main Street in front of Banner Stationers. • Correction In the February 11, 2016 edition (vol. 105 No. 7) of the El Segundo Herald  , “School Board Honors ESUSD High Achievers”. Ian Hurd, was left out of the list of member names of the Zero Robotics group. We regret the error. • Obituaries Laurence “Craig” Cooley Laurence “Craig” Cooley passed away on Sunday 2/14/16. He was a friend to the El Segundo community since 1959. He was the owner of Craig’s Automotive. He is survived by his wife Barbara, and Sons, Robert, Larry, Byron and David.
